As I walked the green path down Orchard Way, To my great joy birds sang while on the wing, As they ate plump carmine cherries buffet, While the cerise sun itself was bleeding! I joined their fun after plucking a bunch, Enjoying sights and sounds of coming night. The world of color ends with a still punch, Splashing beauty with all its gentle might! Joy in the orchard of the setting sun, And blooms follow me all along the path, Sharing their pure delight with anyone, The whole world awash in a redness bath! Hello moon which puts me under its spell, And goodbye to the day I loved so well.

If that redness bath is a sunset, a cerise sun and plump carmine cherries I’m all in!

Delightful poem. I love fresh cherries but their season is over now. Pity. Mouth watering sonnet. ~~

Cherries are delicious when in season, but nice to write about when they're not. When you told me the other day of your difficulty with haikus, I thought of my difficulty with sonnets, so I decided to try again, and I was successful. I can write them faster, now. Thank you for the lovely comment. :)

Love the visual imaging with well-chosen phrases like 'cerise sun' and 'carmine cherries buffet.' Sounds like 'Orchard Way' is a perfect place to spend a sunny day! Lovely, Evelyn! Sunshine and Joy, Gershon

I love sonnets-they're such a beautiful form. I'm so pleased that you have enjoyed with this one. Thank you for the happy thoughts. Best regards, Evelyn
