Cherokee People

Centuries ago there was a people
How they fought to stay alive
Emerging through rough country side
Removed from their home land
Over the long trail of tears to Oklahoma
Killed along this trail was alot of their people
Evening came and went, they rejoiced to be alive
Elements of time help keep their spirits strong

Patients kept them going as they pushed toward home
Eventually they made it to the land given them
Over time the people grew and became strong again
People are afraid to say I'm part native american
Let your voices be heard of your nationality
Even now in all this time my people live
