Cherished Heart
Cherished Heart
My paper heart, trimmed in fragile lace,
Longs for love notes scribed on its face -
In sonnet words “Won’t you be mine-
My cherished child - my valentine?”
Devotion true, for all time,
No broken vows and no false rhymes
Faithful promise between the lines -
Covenant from my valentine.
I feel your heart beating with mine
Heart to heart in endless time
You choose me in timeless rhyme
Tenderly be your valentine.
When I feel my heart cold as stone
Lonely hearts club, beating alone,
No one night stand – one life renewed -
My valentine you see me through.
Flawless and abiding love letter
Perpetual life together
Cherished heart, a pure love divine,
This my eternal Valentine.
