Cheery Cherries

dawn’s
cheery
red cherries
by the bagful
cheek by jowl they munch
dangling the stem, spitting
out crunchy seeds (tooth breakers)
channelling the healing power
chalking up juicy rufescent bites
at dusk, couple’s cheering cerise cabernet
