Cheers

I poured my drink out on the ground tonight
In honour of you
In honour of what we had
In honour of the future we lost
You may not be in the ground
But you’re no longer in my thoughts

So this one tonight is goodbye
Goodbye to pining, the whining and the lying
Goodbye to the pain
Because there was no gain
Work hard and you will achieve your dreams
But my dream was you
You were meant to be my firsts and my lasts
Whole life ahead of us
Planned to the letter
Till death do us part

Well that part of me dies tonight
So this drops for the dreamers and the believers
Because my dream fell tonight
And this drink is to the lovers
Because love shall conquer all
Just not your heart

So I pour my drink out on the ground tonight
To say goodbye to a dream
And to you my love

Because all dreams are forgotten come morning
