Check the Records

Excuse me, Mrs. "NASTY"- DMV lady
Whatever be your name
I see those tickets are addressed to me
But I assure you, I'm not to blame
You see, I've been away for twenty years
In Jail: Behind the bars
So, there's no way that I could have gotten them

I think there must be some mistake
Check the records and you will see
That someone else had possibly drove that car
But I know that it wasn't me
Now if you will. please give me my license
Before, I pass some gas

Charlie, what was that last word you were looking for in your poem where you used the elipse? I'm an old sailor, so forgive me but it must've been "mast" you were searching for. Right? Loved your humor in your poem. Very funny.

Not fun dealing with the DMV. Because of Covid they took all of the benches away no chairs anywhere and a long line to stand in, a little bit of torture before paying a large registration fee which piled on more pain. I love your alibi! Congratulations on your wonderful win. Happy Valentine’s Day my friend. Blessings xxoo

Oh my, Charlie, if this isn't a winner (or rank high) on the list, I don't know how. This is hilarious and as clever is most of your writes. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
