Chatting With Brightness

Our discussions were like dormant volcanoes.
Often leaving a great trembling of the heart.
Shaking us into blank-eyed passages.
A shoeless march well beyond the tree line.
Your wild theories and philosophies flashing.
Black flakes of paranoia drifting and thrashing.
Exposing deep crevasses of a spinning mind.
Barking out your darkness from close behind.
You left me little choice but to keep climbing.
To blindly summit into a cloudy nothingness.
No time for pondering the mystery of stars.

Friend, I'm cutting ties with your acidic whisperings.
Because you're so fond of cutting, then leaving me to die.
I'm heading back down far below the icy tree line.
Into a softer light, to chat with angels of endless brightness.
