Chasing Rainbows

Chasing Rainbows In a distant memory Beneath a lonely maple tree I sat upon my thinking rock And listened to the voices talk I asked them what was meant to be And this is what they said to me Listen close as I confide Happiness is on the other side Look beyond the prism’s gate Stepping through will end your hate But it’s guarded by the devil’s mate And she will surely seal your fate But if you live in misery I have a plan to set you free If you can somehow gain her trust Somehow deceive her, feed her lust The would be a fiery storm of dust As Satan came and then you must Make a break for the other side And do not stop unless you’ve died If you make it you’ll forget Your pain, your sorrow, and regret You’ll know peace, love, and respect Is more than something you expect I listened to them closely Decided if only just maybe Someday somehow just suppose The voice I keep on hearing somehow really knows So any time it’s raining and the sun still shows If you want to find me I’ll be out chasing rainbows By: Jeremy Siedlecki
