Chasing Chickens

I smile
As I hear kids outside chasing chickens
It's getting dark and its time to put the chickens inside
The kids run excitedly, all over like the chickens 
Sometimes singing songs 
At times shouting schemes of how to catch the chickens 

I ponder
As I look at my life
On this cool May evening
Resting on my bed listening to the outside sounds of the kids and the chickens
Tomorrow's another day, tomorrow's another decision 
Am excited, I feel excited, I want to write and sing songs
Chasing chickens has become my new venture
I only hope me and the chickens will end up in a happy place
