Chasing the Heartbeat Heart racing, pulse chasing, I used to be a living hell, But your love, man, it knocked me off my feet, your kiss was sweet candy made of sugar cane, I’m no longer bound, not tied to my past, but on this mind-bending road of truth, I found in the gospel of love in you that will last, yeah, somethin’ got into me, sweet women, now I’m kickin' the blues to the past, I’ve paid my dues in love and lost, as a spark ignites deep, bright, I’m one step closer to your heartbeat, the rhythm, a whisper, a pulse beneath my skin, A jazz melody humming softly, pulling me in, your body’s perfume, It could be Chanel, your intoxicating spell has got me to no end, each breath a love promise, a secret to tell. In the warmth of your presence, and lost in the essence of your love dance, I choose the melody of love and said goodbye to my jazz life, you hit me, hard baby, like a thousand pounds of bricks, I’m a roadrunner a speed racer, speed-ing, pushing me forward toward your love fix, so listen up baby and dig what I say, your daddy says no to our love, but he can’t hold my love back I’m here to stay, I’m racing to you, darling, with a heart wide open, my steady heartbeat whispering your name, Tell me, am I your loving man? Can you feel the space between us closing fast? I’m a Roadrunner, sweet darling, every mile, I shed my fears, I can’t get over you, got to get next to you, my feet pounding the earth, driven by the truth of this love so wild, pushing me onward, to where we become, more than just a story, a sym-phony of souls, together, where love unfolds.
