Chasing a Feeling
I see no meaning in the sun-drenched leaves,
That scatters the evening light so lovely.
I see no beauty in the barks of trees,
Reflected on the golden pond beneath.
A toddler chases a distraught pigeon.
The little ones face overflowing joy,
He stumbles like a tiny drunken man.
I bet he feels the meaning of his ploy.
I see a park devoid, unlike the boy.
Gregarious collective I dismiss,
Emotion and matter collide and this?
This numb awareness of things, I am coy.
I remember feeling just like that tot,
Sun on my face and my heart filled the lot!
