Chased By Dreams

Chased by dreams with blond hair, trying to capture what they once had for a minute, an hour, an eternity, a brutal one night stand from which blossomed the most beautiful person I’ve ever encountered. He too is being chased, to be captured by one who has no rights to him, trying to persuade his innocent little fish to believe in him. He never will. When he’s old enough, I’ll tell him how it happened, how I died a thousand deaths so he could survive, and how this man is trying to come back to reopen wounds so the bleeding will scare others off. Trying to produce new scars too hideous for others to see. Trying to possess me again, to make me numb to the point of extinction, to keep me as his to use whenever he wants. Resistance, forbidden, more scars, a searing pain which can only be known by a deer, shot, yet not dead, trapped, trying to run, escape, be free. But alas, to always to feel the pain.
