Chary

For as long as I can remember
I've never looked ahead
I've always walked with my head down
so I could place every step
I was often too cautious
to keep up with the pace
but though I fell behind
I've never fallen out of place
I've never held onto anything
when I felt any doubt
and I've never let go of anything
I couldn't do without
I've never shown a smile
I thought could be turned to a frown
and I've never stood up
when I could've ever been knocked down
I've never given up my heart
without the exchange of another
and I've never loved carefree
without the same from the other
'cause I've always been too affraid to fall
for what I had to lose
I've always been too affraid to fall
except inlove with you
