Charlotte's Web

with words used for conjuring
she writes her beautiful lines

and colours each and every ideal
as if a mosaic for the mind

insatiable mother nature
has found herself discribed

her true colours never mintioned
are finally recognized

she sprinkles words with her perfumes
with fragrances not often used

she measures words with passion
fits them together in poetic fashion

she colours the world oh so sweetly
and portrays it's beauty oh so neatly

she gives us true meaning
that life is also bleeding

she revieled her own scars
and scattered them among the stars

the pinnacle of her success
the rare thing that made her blessed

being prepared for any test
always striving to be the best

Dear John, just saw your comment on Charlottes "Lily of the Valley" poem and you are right. I can tell she worked on that poem a long time to bring the flower to life. I sometimes spend days rewriting my poems before posting them. Novelist Lillian Helman wrote a book about how many times her husband, a famous author, told her to keep rewriting her work. Charlotte is very talented and so are you. I think we could all learn from her work and the effort she puts into it. Love you, Carolyn

john, I think there is a famous lady from a while back who had this name. and there is a current poet right here at Soup with this name (a most excellent descriptive writer) Could this be for the Charlotte that is here at Soup?) If so, what a lovely tribute this is.

John the Cupid poem had nothing to do with coveting. It was just a little humor expressing that love sometimes means getting hurt. Not sure how you took it, but it was meant to be funny. Love, Carolyn

I hope Charlotte has seen this wonderful tribute to her talent, John. Very much enjoyed reading this and hope you are doing well. Thanks for reading my poem. I don't think God cares which religion we follow, as long as we have faith and share love with our fellow man. The sunrise service here is awesome and I wish you could see it -- people of many faiths joining hands. So inspiring that it brings hope for our future. Love you, Carolyn
