Notes About The Poem

Charlie

Beloved universal mime Heightened the fun fare of showtime. Little Tramp in ill-fitting suit Stirred sound commotion, all in mute. Grotesque, and comic, and absurd - He said it all without a word. No fancy props, he worked the crowd To poignant tears or laughs out loud. Silver screen long evolved the mode Far and beyond the silent code. The walk of fame long overdue - Hats off to Charlie that we knew! March 4, 2022
