Chapter 5 -- Damian Hakim: Brothers To Brothers

Today is the day that Damian
Will not ever forget. 12 years-old Damian
Was asleep in bed. When he Heard
His father's voice calling and his
Mother screaming. Damian awoke
Thinking he was still dreaming.
His father burst into his room.
"Damian stay home with the rest
Of the children your mother is having
The baby! And Julius will be here
With you too! CJ will be with me."
Damian was still sleep on his feet
Forcing himself to alertness.
He went to check on Sidney Salis
Crysteph and Franky. All of the
Siblings were in the Living room
Watching TV, including Manisha.
And Julius.
He thought Manisha was teasing
Him when she stated, "Dad said
We're gonna have to move. Soon."
Damian frowned "Alright, what.
Ever Nishi." She
Continued, "it's true." 11 years-old
Manisha smiled. "I'm telling the
Truth! Ain't it true Julius?" 15 years old
Julius said, "Yeah i...yeah it's true
we moving. I donknow when though." Damian
Uttered, "Yeah okay Ju."
The house phone rang. "Uncle
Preston, Tito, Tyler Desmond and
Uncle Fabian are all coming here
To be with us to wait for Dad!"
Damian announced after hanging
The phone up. The uncles arrived
Shortly after the brief phone
Conversation. Just a little while
Passed and Uncle Tito said, "Hey
We need to give these kids some
Preoccupation while we are virtuous
With patience." He produced a deck
Of cards. Uncle Fabian said, "let's
Take a vacation!" Preston said,
"Come on youngsters pull up your
Chairs to this table here."
Alright the game is spades.
five hundred points to the big
Win. Partners!" The young guys
Were excited and Manisha watched.
Uncle Savarho asked, "Does everybody
Know the rules anybody need teaching?
Brush up?" Damian and Julius said
"Let's do this!" Tito said no problem
And remember this game is a
Cooperative operation." The cards
Were dealt partners were already
Chosen. Damian was Uncle Fabian's
Partner, Julius was Uncle Tyler
Were partners, Fabian was partners
With 12 years-old Jackson. The
Game began. They decided who
Would throw the first card. It was
Damian. He threw the ace of diamonds.
While everybody else was on the
Table. Uncle Tito and Uncle Desmond
Coached and watched everybody's hand
methods and strategies. Damian's
Partner Fabian Pondered and
said as he slammed the
Ace of spades, "I'm supposed to
Play the last card anyway! Here
Damian we got that book son!"
Preston countered, "wait one minute, now!"
You have to play a diamond. You do
Know the game Fabian?! Uncle Fabian said
"There are no diamonds in my hand
Man! This is our book!
The youngest kids watched and
Giggled. The brothers grew raucous
and time passed. Then the phone rang.
Manisha picked up the receiver.
"Hello," "it's daddy!" Carter Hakim said
"Put me on speaker!" Hey family
Lucinda gave birth after 4 hours to
Baby boy Adonis Dagua Hakim!
My son baby weighs 7 lbs 4 ozs.
I'll be home later." Of course the
Family of men were to busy
Cheering to hear the extent of the
Report. Uncle Preston hushed
Everybody and asked, "What do you
Youngsters think? you have another
Baby brother" Julius said, "wow
I can't wait to see Adonis Dagua
Hakim." Damian reiterated me either."
Jackson said, "Yeah but we have to
Move!" That night Carter Hakim
Returned home. And saw his brothers
Asleep on the living room floor. And
Couch. He chose not to disturb them. He
Went to his bedroom. And thought
Of Lucinda and baby Adonis. He
Resembles the men in the family,
Mainly Dad.
He had to now, hunt for a new
Residence for his family. The
Present dwelling no longer afforded
Comfort for all of them. The baby
Makes twelve, no space. His net
Worth was a meager $4 million
Real-estate and software investments
were paying off very well. The
Family of twelve eventually
Relocated into a modest mansion
Sold to him through a real estate
Buddy he knew. He bought the 5 acres
Of land too. That amounted to
$5 million with aid from relatives.
Carter said, "Sweetheart you know
It will be some time before the
Whole house is furnished." Lucinda
Replied "uh that's not a problem,
Instead we can concentrate
On beds for the kids And the baby
Will be in our room for now." Carter
Said, "I will assign each of the older
Kids their own rooms the little ones
Can share. But it is 8 rooms."
Carter and Lucinda assigned rooms
To their kids.
