Chaos

My mind wanders
disturbed distorted disillused
fleeing like a fleet of stallions
uneasy like Poseidon's oceans
a broken mirror in the bathroom
staring at a reflection
in a puddle
on a rainy day
where? how? why? when? who?

destruction devistation desolation
beating but there are no drums
motion but there is no movement
images but there are no eyes
consciousness but there is no thought
the earth trembles as i walk
quake aftershocks bring mayhem
trees,buildings,people ripped apart
blackholes engulf the world around me

recreation renew re-emerged
matter streams into a nebula, a star is born
ink spills onto paper forming words
an expressionist painter throws cans of paint at a canvas
but without thought
a prophet sees the future
but without eyes
the heart pounds with fury
but without pulse
the mind conquers marathons
but only runs in circles

What wonderful poetry I am reading today and so diverse. I have not read a bad poem yet today. I am enjoying reading each and everyone from old poets and new poets alike. Lots of amazing contest entries also. Thank you for sharing yours with us today Karl. Love, Carol
