Changing Me

Changing Me I have changed myself for you You wanted something I am not So I changed to make you love me I gave it not a second thought The passing of time has eroded The lie that I’ve been living And you don’t even have a clue The sacrifice that I’ve been giving Well as it turns out my dear You are not at all like I thought And I think you should really know What you thought is simply not I am not like you think at all I am so sorry I can’t be that I have so many faults and failures And that is just a fact So I am ready now to walk away And try to be who I really should be And no longer lie and deceive you Because I just would like to be me Now you have heard my tale of woe And you still want me to stay? You really want me to be me? You said , “yes that’s the only way” Connie Moore
