Change Or Chains'

Living:

That magnificent process which progress from day to day;
Each day different than the one before'
Alas, time does not permit us to stand still.
Oh, we may resist, and dig in our heels;
But in a mere twenty-four hours we will awake in a brand
New day which is God's gift to us.
How we utilize that day is our gift to Him.
We can choose to reminisce;
Recalling things that used to be or how our lives were run;
But what has passed can never be replicated today.
No matter how diligently we attempt to drag,
The memory into the light of today with our many chains'
When we thought as children this seemed to be possible.
Now, having matured, we find it necessary to view life differently.
Every morning presents unique possibilities;
New challenges are present; also new joys'
All things have been made new for us,
And, like it or not, we are coerced into confronting these changes.
However, the thought occurs to me,
That we can willingly embrace change,
Just as easily as we dwell in the past midst
Those things that used to be'
So obviously the decision of today remains,
Will we accept the change, or continue to cling to the chains.

Interesting write, thought provoking and good advice presented. Sometimes though, there are situations that do come back, perhaps because we hadn't overcome the previous time, hence history repeats itself? Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Caroline.
