Change of Heart

How fickle are the humors of the heart,
capricious and of alternating hue,
a masked chameleon of cunning art;
transmuting colours often hid from view.

Who can know the human heart? I'm not sure I fully know my own, let alone anybody else's. Your words are outstanding in communicating this truism, Wendy. Fickle, capricious, alternating hue, masked chameleon, transmuting colours; the density of meaning within these brief lines is remarkable, as is your commitment to pristine rhyme and cadence. I'm off to visit the original now. Congratulations for your win with Greg ~ John

Thanks for noticing and appreciating, my friend - it's the "new" me, haha! As I'm no longer entering contests, (well, except Brian's cuz I don't have to write specifically for them), I have time to stay on top of them - and I get to enjoy the reading of them more ... it's kinda nice! ;-) <3
