Change Must Come

I have been counted as nothing by society,
I have been driven to the point of insanity.
They that see me turn up their nose and laugh in my face,
And their voices echo in my mind not fit for the human race.

You are responsible for who I am today,
You never dared to care so I lost my way.
How could you have been so cruel to a child?
Left me to fend for myself and just be wild.

They robbed me of my innocence while you stood there,
You kept silent and turn your back to each and every tear.
Why I asked, why did you leave me to die?
You never answered because all you would do is lie.

Innocent? I am not innocent anymore,
I begged you for help but all you did was shut the door.
I wish I could just laugh and be free,
Now I realize that I shall never be me.

I wish the memories would just disappear,
I wish I could walk freely without any fear.
The images of my innocence being taken away from me,
They will linger forever and I will never be free.
My body, my mind, my life as it used to be,
All gone forever and replaced with misery.
You never gave me the chance to fulfill my destiny,
I am at a point of no return –not fit for humanity.

A change must come to set me free,
I need a chance to fulfill my destiny.
I shall not be a slave to my past and my memory,
I need a change so I can rewrite my story.
