Change
The rain yesterday
Changed the morning
Fog rises from the creek
Air is nice, moist, cool
Dew drips from the caladiums
That possess the window boxes
Roosters sing cock-a-doodle-do
In the far distance
Birds chirp softly in the trees
Water droplets drip from leaves
On the pear trees
Cats groom each other lovingly
Sun peeking threw the clouds
Casting a soft glow just
Faintly showing light
Gentle air movement
Air touches moving caladiums
In a slow sumba
Drawing into a close presence
With every living being
With every inch of sunrise
The sky changes
Sun becomes goldenrod
Casting its light on the black clouds
Moving them with its presence
And warmth; softly, slowly
Inching it way into the day
Changing every living thing
Slowly leaving the other side
Of the earth
Joining forces with the moon
Bringing night
