Chameleon
I am a chameleon. Blending in with the rest. Afraid to show my true colors. Afraid to show what’s on the inside. So I hide myself. I blend in with the things around me. Because if I show my true colors in today’s society, I will end up getting eaten.
I am a chameleon. Observing everything around me. I don’t speak. Speaking isn’t exactly my cup of tea. I just stand idly, watching the days go by. I just stand idly, looking at the world with the better eyes of my kind.
I am a chameleon. I sometimes feel trapped. Trapped as life’s pet. Life forces me to run through its obstacle course. A never ending obstacle course. With Life continuously adding obstacles as I go along. And when I try to stop and ask, “Why?” Life only replies with more obstacles.
I am a chameleon. Forced to wear a mask I don’t want to wear. I don’t speak, I observe. And I’m just trying to make my way through the never-ending obstacle course that is life.
