Cellphone the Extra Appendage

Cellphones attached to hands,
Just an extra appendage, no big deal.
Put down rarely, 
Picked up at first peep.

Instant news.
Instant text.
Instant everything.
Instant anger.
Instant nasty reply.

Cellphones, more interesting than people.
Everyone sitting around, looking at their appendages.
I-phones, their new best friends.
Eliminates lonely feelings
And spontaneous conversations with strangers.

Nobody in the news mentions the dangers of cell phones on our anatomy. We pretend they are as innocent as a play phone. They are anything but that. Cell phone next to your ear? Deadly.
