Celebrations

Celebrations

During the year we have various Celebrations we treat
Them all as important, but do they have any real meaning
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, is it a gesture of
Goodwill, or a real expression of feeling, are people really
Happy and enjoy these days or are they just to cover up
What is really going on in life, some people would spend
These days lying on a park bench in a street somewhere
Yes the homeless that are forgotten by most, especially
By the rich and famous, who carry on with their lives
Just like it never existed, yes to the very poor people
Celebrations mean nothing, to them, it is just another day.
Yes Celebrations mean a lot to most people as it is usually
A day off from work, as well as partying with friends, but
Do we all need to evaluate what the significance of these
Celebrations represent, or do we all just accept them for
What they really are, time for us to use for our own benefit.
