Cavity-Filled
The more I stare
at Mona Lisa"s
fabled smile,
the more I see
nothing there that's
faintly mystical;
none in those lips
is remotely
enigmatic,
none in their slight
slant is celestially
aesthetic.
In fact,
there are other ways
of looking at it:
a smile of one
trying to explain
some mild mischief,
suppressing
an embarassing
big burp, maybe,
or one deftly
hiding her
cavity-filled teeth !
