Caught In a Storm

CAUGHT IN A STORM

Two men went out in the middle of the storm, up to the moors, high up and exposed.
Rain beat down flattening the grass and making fast running streams flow down the steep hillside.

Wind howled all around buffeting the two men like a mad dervish just released; they struggle to walk, blown back by the power of the wind.
Higher and higher up they climb all of the way to the top.
Night comes in a breath as the men move on.

Lightning flashes to the ground and thunder rips through the air shattering the night.
Now the two men stop and stand all exposed, arms outstretched.
In a second lightning finds them, hitting them with a white flash and blue flame.
Both men are blown to the ground, badly burned, dead before they hit the earth.

No one knows why they came here, people can only guess.
Now they are part of the storm, full of so much power and beauty.
