Caturday

laying down for the nap
                                 stretching out long
                                 sleepy orange kitty

                              snow sprinkles down
                               paw prints all around
                                  kitty runs to hide

                                 longing to get out
                            watching birds and squirrels
                                  oh, no, hot paws

                            coming thru the trees
                                 lights turn on
                               cat eyes shining

                              look into the sky
                                 wild and free
                          bobcat on mountain top

                            moonlight stars twinkle
                             prowling the night skies
                           morning light cat sleeps

                             morning walking path
                               the sun gets in eyes
                             lingering heat cat sighs

Very clever, indeed. Cat eyes are something special, as is the poet who writes about them. Thank-you for being here and providing all this fun!

Hi Debbie" Thanks for your comment on my poem today. I have used the Haiku Syllable Counter down in Resources on the left. It is fun when it calcualates and you have a perfect 5-7-5 score.

Lovely set of cat haikus. The title is a clever play on words. So fun to see their antics come to life through these words.

Those little precious indoor cats and kittens love those birds, squirrels, rats, mice, chipmonks, and they will eat snakes also..Enjoyed your very creative and unique work about the two kinds of cats..The house cat and bobcat which are very much kin...Thanks for stopping by..Those snakes are scary. Some are deadly even though now there is antivenom which can save lives but not every time..Sara
