Catfished

His hair online
Looked divine, so
To dine, she went.

She’d been misled
And with dread, saw
His head was bald.

What a bad dish.
Her fond wish was
Catfish instead!

*catfished (a fairly new term for those who don't know of it)
Being deceived over facebook as the deceiver professed their romantic feelings to his/her victim, but isn't who they say they are.

If he possessed every other desirable quality, you could always buy him a wig (or Hair Club for Men). ;-)

Congratulations on your win, Andrea! A lot of people are catfished on Facebook and elsewhere. It's funny, but for her it must have been a very unpleasant experience! I love your sense of humor... you have made me laugh with your lines! Happy Monday to you! Hugs, Andrew.

Fun wordplay, Andrea. The first time I heard the term was on the show, Catfish. Not sure why it's called that though! Congrats on 2nd place! It's a true issue that happens a lot ... but the opposite can also be true. My uncle, for instance, met his wife on a game of Online Scrabble (and she was from a different country!)

Hi Andrea, Congratulations on your placement in the contest. Why can't people just be honest and upfront about who they are. I liked your usual wit within the serious message. As always, you just seem to float through these forms although this may not be so. A seven and into my faves....MIKE.

Andrea, this is so true and I bet happens all the time, sure men do it and bet women too, on line dating is only for the brave and can be dangerous too, for women and for men I knew a man who did on line dating and was harassed by a woman, he was not interested and she kept calling him and showing up, great write, wonderful pen, I am loving this 7 ~

No! Really? People post false pictures of themselves on the Internet. I am shocked and dismayed. All kidding aside I have always wondered where it gets them. The truth has a way of coming back to slap you in the face. Excellent poem! A Fav!

Long ago I used to have a pony tail but as I grew older it withdrew and now shows up everywhere else. Love the humor. Really hard to believe there are so many gullible people out there, well not really. Peace my dear:)

How funny Andrea! Don't care for bald men? Just so you know, mine is silver grey, but its all there. Of course, like with your poem, I could be misleading you, haha.
