Catfish Purred

Listen to poem:
The unheard catfish wanted to purr. But all his hums and whisker strums were slurs and murmurs, not purrs. So he spoke with the great connoisseur of non-purring cats, the lion. "King of cats" the catfish said. "Why can't you purr like a pussy cat?" "You know" the lion said. "It's strange" "Cats that roar, can't purr" "Only cats that meow not roar, can stir a purr" "So therein lies the answer" "Do catfish roar or meow?" he asked. Well, the catfish thought it over. It was true, catfish roar of sorts, when they growl and howl, and cry foul, and kowtow. But Nature did not endow catfish with meow. It was worth a try. So back to school he went. "Thanks lion, I will go home and teach myself to meow" he said. Sure enough, after much rehearsal, he got roar reversal. He learnt to meow. Better still, in time, It stirred a purr, as well.
