Catching Feelings

I never understood why people said they “caught feelings”.
That didn’t make any sense. How can you catch feelings?
You can catch a cold or the flu, but feelings? It’s not a sickness.
But then I caught feelings, and it all made sense.
Feelings are a sickness.
They mess with your head, making you unable to think straight.
They make you feel all funny on the inside.
They come fast and are slow to leave.
And they hurt like hell if left unchecked.
So to catch feelings is to catch a sickness.
And I caught this sickness;
Terribly and with no hope of recovery.
