Cat Tale
Cat Tale
————————————————-
Matt Cat sat…so
Still, sat nobly
Tall, statue strong…
Except for his tail
Smacking: swat-swat!
At the guiltless floor,
First to the right, then To the left. Repeat!
.So striking was Matt’s
Alert act, anticipating
Any hint of motion in
His surrounding void.
Thus, Matt sat
Of a silent, waiting Stance and
Quickening heart…
But, since he’d
Flung off his purr;
Sensed little to gain
In an insufficient
“Meee-ow!” or wail;
There remained just
His tail to bear
The burden,
and betray
His slipping, usually
Impassive peace.
Matt Cat was bored…
And
Racing in place…
Away!
