Cat People

“Ms. Skittles,” the music teacher began, “your fiddle playing is impeccable, really, I am amazed. You could write up some lyrics for that tune and make yourself an award winning song right then and there! You really are a star pupil.” “Meow.” “Oh, wow, and here I thought I was being nice.” the teacher rolled his eyes as the little brown tabby kitten rubbed against the fiddle. “Mrow?” “What? Sugarcoating? I told you God’s truth, little Skittles.” “Mew.” “Skittles, I swear! Nobody’s ever heard a cat play a fiddle before, let alone play it as good as you can! Plus you’re a kitten which wins over just about anybody with a heart.” “Mrew!” Skittles began to purr. “What, that an ego boost for you?” “Mreeeeow.” “Well,” the teacher laughed, “I’d call that a big yes. You can go now, by the way.” “Mew!” Skittles continued to purr, but looked expectantly at the teacher. “What now?” Skittles looked in the direction of a treat container in response, “Oh, a treat, yes, of course.” the teacher grabbed the treat box, popped two out and laid them in front of the kitten. Skittles happily went, “Mrew!” and crunched down the two treats, only then hopping off the table and walking out of the room.
