Cat om a Hot Tin Roof

In "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,"

 I could feel my fingernails digging into his back during that electrifying moment.
 It was astounding to witness tears streaming down the face of such a strong man—he truly wept! He sighed deeply, reaching his climax over and over. 
Was this a testament to his athleticism or a cry for help beneath his tough exterior?
