Casual

From close to distant, we drifted away, A smile once warm feels foreign today. Like strangers again, we awkwardly greet, Casual glances where my heart used to beat. It’s strange to think somebody so near, Could vanish like clouds and simply disappear. I know I’m to blame for the things that went wrong, But what’s in the past can’t change with a song. I’m sorry I struggled with communication, I’m not like others, skilled in conversation. I wish I were better at knowing what to say, I could have pulled you close instead of pushing away. In the end, I think it’s better this way, We greet, we nod, then silently walk away. Though time may pass, the memories still play, It feels like ages, though it was just months away.
