Castles ( 1998 )

Castles

Not

Me

Faded; where did I go………….

I built love on wishes

Papier-mâché castles of glitter dusted

Crumpled to the paper bags they were made from

Where illusion inspired my heart with empty air

Not
Me
Any

More

The wave swept shore has returned my sandcastles to grains

My soul a mere beach where my spirit played

Only marks my passing in the foot prints of today

A shadow fleeting on the rippled sand

Not
Any
More

Me

Time has pulled the great stone flags flint to disarray

Tumbled in spaces where the blue sky is seen

My great grand castles built on dreams

Stand monument to the tomfoolery of my hearts mastery

Not
Me
Any
More

Faded; where did I go……………..

Out of the ashes of our questionings the phoenix rises ... in skies of poetry, bravo.

I think we can all relate in one way or another....we all have seen our sandcastles disappear, fade away, and take our dreams along with the tide of time, different choices we may have made. So much to think about here.. Well done! ~ Carrie

I was just wishing last night it was ten years ago and that I had made a different decision, so it is strange to read this right now. But we must build new castles, new dreams and somehow make the best of it. I dont know how. I know you are still you. And we must still dream. Don't lose sight of your dreams Colin, ever. Love & hugs, Shar

So intune to your feelings you are. Hard to build a strong foundation on illusion and dreams alone. Strong powerful message in this outstanding write. Here's to the mastery of the heart it usually is what in the endend prevails all else. Truly enjoyed. Take care Love Light Truth Patricia
