Castle On a Hill
She declared her undying love for him,
As he rode his horse into the far and distant land,
“The battle will be won, I will conquer the enemy,
Return and marry”
She ran to the top of the castle's highest tower,
And watched him as he faded into the distance,
Her spirit would never rest until his return,
Tears fell down her face, she would wait for eternity,
The castle was her fortress her safe tower on the hill
She waited and waited, months and months but no return,
Her white wedding gown was ready and waiting,
But where was her groom,
She sang songs as she waited,
Singing of her undying love for him and his safe return,
Her music could be heard throughout the castle,
Even to this very day her sadness sings
As she awaits the return of her love,
The sweetness of her voice can be heard,
For eternity she said she would wait,
Forever she said!
Until his return,
The castle still remains empty but just a ruin,
Singing can be heard even from a distance,
Calling for her love.
