Castle

The gnarled rock.....
On which the castle stands
Haunting beauty.....
Above the green lands

Ruined battlements,
speak of previous engagements
Hard dark stone
The castle....
Stands alone

Battered walls have withstood....
Natures' harshest winter
Wars,weapons of steel........
Men heal......
Wood splinter
If it could....
Castle....
Would

Flickering glow.....
Upon the gnarled rock,
from long ago
Castle....
It knows

Wooden beams creak
Moonlight to seek
The gnarled rock.....
The castle keep....
Waiting for the key......
To turn in rusty lock

The wind howls
On the gnarled rock
On which the castle stands
Hoot of owls
Castle.....
Brooding over green lands

Flickering glow.....
On the battlements
Silent stone
Castle.....
Dark and alone
Memories from long ago

Past glories
Flickering glow
Castle stories........
From long ago

The gnarled rock
guards the castle
Flickering glow,
in a deadened sky......
From long ago
