Casting About

Would-be actors read for roles And give it all they’ve got, Hoping that their name will fill A vacant casting slot. They gesture, pace, project and still, Some don’t get any part. Rejection hurts; it’s very hard To not take it to heart. Though confidence is needed Just as well as some ambition, Determination is the key To face the next audition.

I can relate to this in some small way!!!! I can't believe I chose this poem today ... tonight I stand on stage in front of an audience of 600 and recite 2 of my poems - it is a daunting thought as I've never been on a proper stage before but I'm excited at the prospect of sharing a couple of my funny poems and helping to raise money for charity:-) hugs Jan xx

Best of luck to you, Jan! I think you'll be fantastic and I'll bet you'll want to do more of it...
