Casta Diva

Her Casta Diva truly great,
Maria Callas soothes my soul,
The music moving me to tears,
This is the finest piece I know.

I listen to her voice and smile,
Get goosebumps at her perfect tone.
She sang Bellini’s masterpiece
And made the aria her own.

Hi Jack, enjoyed your poem and tribute to Maria Callas! You should know that one of my relatives was a well known opera singer in the US (she emigrated when the Nazis took power). Her name is Lotte Lehmann and she was also a writer and filmmaker. She was buried at the famous cemetary in Vienna....Love, Gert
