Cast In Stone
The fruit I bare is rotten
Everything I know was never mine
It seems that I’d forgotten
The truth is that I will never shine
The placement of my laughter
The hazy glare of my eyes
The things that come right after
Are all the products of a lie
I’m the cheer of a graveyard
After nightmares come around
I’m the silence of a boatyard
After every dream has drown
My written words are pictures
I see a thousand lifeless prayers
I’m too aware that they are mirrors
Because they are the only things that make me care
I’m the shadow in the daylight
After hope has struck my form
I’m the love of every true night
As every loss recites its storm
I’m the nothing under your bed
After you find you are alone
I’m the darkness inside your head
I’m just a monster cast in stone
