Cash Is King
Money can come between the best of friends;
it is known to corrupt the strongest bond,
and follow you to the grave and beyond.
When it comes to dividing dividends,
there's a risk that a longtime friendship ends;
and animosity and lies get spawned.
There is no stifling jealousy or greed,
and we all acknowledge that cash is king;
the one thing we place above everything.
And if you owe, it is useless to plead,
for like Shylock's pound of flesh, once agreed,
repayment is an imperative thing.
If you want more proof of this ugly truth,
merely look around; it doesn't take a sleuth.
