Carousel

On these metal holds, we travel in endless circles
Day one's a compliment fest, day two I'm mere atoms
Your lips taste soft, like buttercream and meringue
But so artificial, only loads worth of carcinogens

Your eyes of chocolate conversate with mine
Chin so pronounced, cheekbones slender
Skin of Napoli caressing against my own
Tell me, amore mio, what your brain has been brewing.

One day, I'll be your favorite monolith
Polished marble and draped red ribbons
But the next, you burn me and hop around
Playing fiddle like Nero is your mentor

You have flattened black hair in ocean waves
Towering stature, slouching fears your spine
Eyes wide like windows into your twisted heart
Visual masterpiece, but your backbone is gelatin

They say Lucifer was alluring, aura of sandalwood
Oh, pretty devil, your frame can't leave me be.
Images triple axel into my daydreams
But apparently, we were never even dating?

But truthfully, you give me words of wisdom
That food to the eyes doesn't always nourish the soul
So, add me to your collection of the women you deceived
I'll step off this carousel, then forget your enticing face

But I'll buy a new ticket once I glance at your photograph
Not pleased to admit it, but my eyes have become your slaves...
