Carousel

   carousel whirls round and round 
       horses climbing up and down

    few riders smiling 
       most, teardrops crying

    calliope’s adversity
       three minutes an eternity

haha, I'll have to check out the riders next time I see a carousel. I think of this song called "The Carousel" by Buffy Saint Marie, but that's from the horses perspective.

as a child, I thought the carousel ride was over way too soon....loved the color and the circling, my imagination in full swing only to have it abruptly end. Like this poem, Sara
