Carolyns Next Adventure

William Shakespeare ’pon a cloud Awaits the new arrivals Heaven needs some poetry And sea fishing revivals A blinding light and newbies came And smiling, wandered in And at the front the one he sought Said Hi, I’m Carolyn He told her he was Willy And he’d been here quite a while He wants to write of fishing Does she know the latest style So share your fishing skill with me Perchance we shall then see If I can spare some time for us To discuss poetry Well Carolyn just grinned a bit And told him ink your quill I’ll tell you about fishing And talk poetry we will She said to Mr Shakespeare ’Let’s talk poems first,’ and so She simply couldn’t help herself... ‘I’ll teach you all I know?’ He scratched the funny little beard That sprouted from his chin I think I’m gonna like you I’m so glad they let you in Recite for me your finest ode Make heaven even brighter She said I haven’t penned it yet... Thanks, Andrea. I liked the notion that Carolyn would be writing away in her new world. Glad you enjoyed. Terry

She would tell Shakespeare she'd teaching him a word or two. Terry, congratulations on your win in Constance's Tribute. Hugs Eve

Thanks, Eve. I had planned for Carolyn to say ‘I’m just getting started’ but the rhyme was proving troublesome. Terry

Thanks, Jan. Like many on Soup, I can’t claim to have known Carolyn, but she made many generous comments on my poems and her comments always seemed genuine. Terry

I hope she would, Scott. Carolyn made many kind comments on my poems and occasionally discussed - albeit briefly - her fishing stories. To claim that I knew her is stretching a point, but comments from those who did know Carolyn, demonstrate just what a genuine person she was. Terry

She would have loved this Terry, she's left a void on here for sure. Can't believe she's gone, I told her once next time I go to Florida I'd call and see her. Tom

I know Florida is a big place, but my brother lives there... wonder if their paths ever crossed.

I spent most of yesterday trying to word a sincere tribute to Carolyn, but almost everything was better said by those who knew her way better than I. When Andrea reminded me that Carolyn enjoyed a witty verse, I went in that direction. Had to write two versions, one for Carol-ine and one for Carol-in... went with the most likely. Terry
