once again
        memories
             of sweet shrub
                        quietly imposes
                                  its luscious scent

red to rust
          blossoms
                 open upon
                         Carolina allspice

memories flood
            the old homeplace
                        deep in the woods
                                     with you sharing secrets

Thank you, Andrea, just a snippet of a memory of a cousin/nephew who would come to visit sometimes. On sunny afternoons, we would go play in the woods. He is in a nursing home now and I am really not able to go visit him for several reasons. Sara K

Dear Sara, I loved this very tender journey through nostalgia, where memories bloom like Carolina allspice. Your beautiful imagery of sweet shrubs and rust blossoms evokes a sense of longing and familiarity. It beautifully captures the essence of shared secrets and the comfort found in reminiscence. I felt I was there! - Blessings, Daniel
