Caressed By the Sun

The sun is exceedingly caressing my spirit,
With the anticipation of a new dawn,
I treasure the moment,
As a new day has begun.

Cognizant of the wonder,
Of which I am about to partake,
A feeling of self doubt,
I hope to leave in its wake.

The warmth on my temper,
Gives me a contented smile,
Ever knowing it would,
Last only a short while.

As the moon kisses adieu,
To the sun’s vanishing light,
I welcome the darkness,
With its intrigue so bright.
