Cares On Leaves

It began with small words
and a look that lingered
I was taken with her smile
Kindred spirits
in search of Life's Truths
laughing all the while
We lay on the grass
and soared with the clouds
She held her hand in mine
with hopes of love
like thoughts of Myth
with enchantment for all time.

The myth did fade

Scarred but strong, on the other side
friendship survived
and lived through turbulent years
all the while, maintaining ties
of support, and kind ears
across the gulf of
Distance and Time.

Stop and listen

Blind of Time and Space
feel the wind of heavenly grace
a subtle thought sings out
and brings a warm smile
Cares on leaves
blow away
