-careless-

To run so carelessly,
And act without thought,
Am I truly a child?
I’ve tried so hard,
Harder than my mind
And my bones can take.
I can feel my heart,
My soul, break apart.
I want to save everyone,
But how could I possibly?
I want to save the world,
But it’s impossible.
I keep lying to myself,
Thinking that
Destroying myself
Will save others.
A letter sent to you,
“If I wanted to die,
Would you actually
Try to save me?”
I’ve always chosen
Quantity over quality,
And people are the same.
Attracting all the wrong,
While avoiding the right.
I am the lonely one here,
I am the best player,
At my own game.
This is how it is,
This is how I have played,
Karma is coming back
To haunt me to death.
Seeing those I love
And those I thought
That I unconditionally loved
Turn their backs,
It hurts more than
A thousand needles prodding
At my heart.
I can’t stand to see
You suffering,
So take my eyes,
My lungs,
My heart,
Anything you please,
Anything that will
Make you happy.
