May I suggest a change to verse 2 for meaning and for depth: switched, man's festive power on/ lights festive bring cheers (still your own words). Sorry, I could not resist this a friend ... forbid me and will not meddle so again.

This was a beautiful Haiku about the wonderful holidays ahead. I don't think our town does much of anything.

This sounds so delightful, Wilma! I haven't been to South Africa, but they tell me and I've seen from movies made there..it is very beautiful! Yes, lights make all the difference in a festival! Have fun and how's the prep for Christmas going? Is it crazy like everywhere else? Love you. Always, Audrey
